Project Overview

Contacted by a major UK electrical contractor to provide a passive screen to stop stray EMF from a transformer and associated cables in this high-level location.

The purpose of this particular screen was to mitigate stray fields radiating from the plant room to the occupied spaces below.

This application required a very simple and cost-effective design to achieve the desired end result.  A fully welded thick low carbon steel screen with sufficient mass to eradicate the problem secured mechanically to the slab.

After installation with the transformer under load conditions the area below was measured and found to be within acceptable limits.
